👮🔪OPERATION SCEPTRE🔪 👮 Today marks the start of Operation Sceptre which for this period runs from the 17th of November through to the 23rd of November. Operation Sceptre is a national, coordinated police initiative in England and Wales to tackle knife crime through a combination of targeted operations, education, and community engagement. Occurring multiple times a year, the week-long campaign involves all police forces working to remove knives from the streets, deter carrying knives, and educate the public, particularly young people, on the dangers of knife crime. This week, Shirebrook Safer Neighbourhood Team will be taking action to help deter and reduce knife crime in our community. We’ll also be working to educate the younger generation about the dangers of carrying knives, with informative presentations delivered in local schools. If you have any unwanted knives, you can safely dispose of them in our amnesty knife bin which will be located outside the Shirebrook Leisure Centre on Park Road on the 22nd of November at 15:00 . This is a great opportunity for you to help keep our community safe! If you want to know more about what your local Safer Neighbourhood Team have been doing during Operation Sceptre week, please keep an eye on our Facebook Page for updates, photos and highlights of the work we are doing to tackle knife crime.
